Many photographers say they have a lot of work without a website. It may work for them but my website is super important for me. Maybe because my work is not really local, people abroad and strangers must be able to see my work at any time and sparing time sending e-mail samples, selecting images, etc. They just need to know other companies have trusted you and what you have delivered, and that you are worth the money they are investing in you.
I used wordpress before but I am the happiest with Wix. It isn't the cheapest but you should not be either.
